Service Description

Love honeybees and nature? Looking for a memorable gift or experience whilst visiting the Cotswolds? Or perhaps your even considering taking up beekeeping yourself. Learn all about being a beekeeper with this 90-minute introductory experience by Head Beekeeper, Ed, which includes: ● Welcome with tea/coffee and cake or biscuits ● An overview talk about bees and beekeeping ● Opportunity to open a beehive and handle live frames of bees at your own pace ● Queen spotting ● Honey tasting ● Bee Yummy Honey goodie bag We are welcoming small groups of no more than 4 to Bee Yummy Honey HQ in the beautiful Cotswolds. With such a small group you can expect plenty of time to get up close and personal to our buzzy friends, hear about how we manage swarms, and the process of extracting our gorgeous honey! Ed will answer any questions you may have about honeybees and the beekeeping year and not only will you leave with a new sense of wonder about honeybees, but you'll also take home a keepsake goodie bag to remind you of your experience. We'll also have honey for sale should you wish to take some home for friends or family. There is ample parking on-site as well as a composting toilet. Bee suits are provided, you'll only need to bring a pair of welly boots. Available Dates: This beekeeping experience is available on selected dates throughout June, July, August and September. It is dependant on the weather which ideally needs to be warm and dry, should unsuitable weather be forecast for your experience day, the session will be rescheduled. This doesn't happen often but we will be able to confirm that your experience is going ahead at least three days before it is due. Booking guidelines: ● Minimum age: 12 years old. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. ● The experience is not recommended if you are allergic to bee or wasp stings ● Access to the hives is uneven under foot. Not suitable for wheelchair users - please enquire prior to booking if you have any mobility concerns ● You will be required to sign a disclaimer on the day before starting your session ● Session length – about 90 minutes ● Start Time – no earlier than 10am (morning sessions) and 2pm (afternoon sessions) ● Cancellation – If for any reason the session is cancelled by you, 25% of the session fee will be retained and the balance returned to the account that booked the session. ● Please advise us of any medical conditions ahead of the event ● For any questions email: buzzbeeyummy@gmail.com


Cancellation Policy

To cancel or reschedule your beekeeping experience, please contact us via email (buzzbeeyummy@gmail.com) or call 07557 565524 at least 48 hours before your session is due to start. If for any reason the session is cancelled by you, 25% of the session fee will be retained and the balance returned to the account that booked the session as we are generally unable to fill spaces at such a late stage.
