Experience Beekeeping in the Cotswolds

Love honeybees and nature?

Looking for a memorable gift or experience whilst visiting the Cotswolds?

...or perhaps you're even considering taking up beekeeping yourself.

Visit our apiary in the heart of the Cotswolds and learn all about honeybees and being a beekeeper with this 2-hour introductory experience, run by Bee Yummy Honey founder, Ed.

After a short introduction to the life of honeybees and a beekeeper's year, we'll get kitted up, get the smoker puffing and open some of our hives to meet these fascinating insects.

This experience is all about you and we'll go at a pace that suits you. There will be plenty of time to ask any questions and, if you feel comfortable, you'll experience holding frames of bees and hopefully spotting the Queen along the way!

With this hands-on experience, you'll learn all about the different parts of a beehive, what drone and worker bees look like, where the brood is raised, what our bees forage on and where the honey is stored.

On return to the Honey Shed, you'll see how we process our beeswax and extract honey - from hive to jar! Before you depart, you'll receive a gift bag as a memento of your experience and we'll also have a range of honey, candles and beeswax wraps to buy as gifts for friends or family.

  • Please note - our experiences are held on a working farm. Whilst we'll try our hardest to ensure it's as 'Instagram-able' as possible (!!), this is an authentic and rustic experience.
